This was Monday
Newly motivated I woke up determined to walk or do something that would make me sweat for 30 minutes. From all my research, and it has been stated even in the article for the Prevention Weight loss Article along with dieting, you need to do some physical activity that makes you sweat for 30 minutes at least 3 times weekly but more like 5 or 6 times for best results. I am trying to do a exercise video but it is more challenging than I thought it would be.
Started off the day as normal glass of water, banana
Green drink which is basically my breakfast
glass of water with chia seeds
lunch was a modest plate of the left over pasta from the night before
apple I would have paired that with string cheese but I didn't have any, don't you hate that? you think something is in the frig. you go for it and someone has eaten it already? lol
dinner was chicken with salad and mixed veggies
no dessert but I had a glass of tea that was kind of sweat I mixed the PMS tea with a ginger tea and a peach detox tea and it was so hot I put ice in the tea so I drank it cold.
This is a new tea for me but it is delicious I will definitely be buying it again
I did not walk but I busted out my InMotion elliptical and used that for 20 minutes you can see that below and I did my stretching/yoga positions too.
This was a good day and easy to stick to my "plan"
Thanks for watching, and come back tomorrow!

Prevention Challenge May 5th, 2013
Cinco De Mayo!!!!
But it was cold and rainy here so we really didn't feel like doing any "Celebrating."
I really only ate 2 meals today. You know I'm an insomniac so sleep doesn't come easy to me most nights. But this night or morning I had an extremely disturbing dream or vision. I jumped straight up out of bed and did not want to go back to sleep. My children just happened to be up too, because it was Saturday night. So we ended up staying up until like 7 am. Then I woke up about 11 am and did some stuff I like to do on Sundays.
Of course I had some water and a banana.
Then my kids woke up about 1pm so I made them a real country breakfast...
diced ham, the last of the ham thankfully
scrambled eggs with green and red bell peppers with onions
and potatoes I have no idea how to explain the potatoes, they are like steam with a little olive oil and seasoned
I had approximately 2 eggs with lots of peppers and onions
a few potatoes
no ham.
I made some fresh squeezed orange juice too.
We all had a snack some time of apples in Nutella, If you have not had Nutella....OMG you are missing out. lol check it out
it is soooo good. Almost too good.
Then a little later we had some guacamole and chips, they ate most of it but I had a few for the spirit of the day! lol
Dinner
Chicken with kind of mexican flare
black beans I made rice for my kids but I didn't have any.
mixed veggies
I didn't have any dessert I just drank some really sweet cherry juice with ice (of course) lol
I had some coffee today and I did not exercise. The dog was inside because of the rain and if you're on the floor in our house he thinks you are on the floor to pet him lol. So it's difficult to workout when he is in side. Great excuse right?
That's it for today, I 'm a little behind on my video ...I hope to catch up on Tuesday.... come back and see if I do it.
Take care,

Attack on Natural Living
Shame on Consumer Report!
This is the cover of the September 2012 issue of Consumer Report.
Needless to say I am upset by this article and was compelled to record this video.
Part of what upsets me is that most people will see the cover and won't read the article, which I believe is intended, but they will just walk away thinking oh vitamins and minerals are dangerous, when that is completely false.
I did some research and in the year 2010 more than 100,000 people died from prescription drug side effects alone. That's not including Dr. errors or mistakes, and not including pharmacy mistakes or errors. Not to mention dosing errors in hospitals.
I truly believe there is a monetary prompting for this being the cover story as well. Sixty-five percent (65%) of Americans are on some pill spending about 250 Billion a year for them. And the drug companies are not satisfied with 65%, now they are making smaller doses of pills like Prozac for kids! They now want to put kids on stronger pain meds, and even suggest some kids should start on cholesterol drugs.
Here are some facts Consumer Report could have listed about prescription drugs:
Prescription overdoses are up fourfold as per the CDC (center for Disease Control)
Death from prescription drug use is now officially an epidemic in the United states.
The 100,000 people that die from side effects of prescription drugs is twice as many people that die from car accidents yearly.
Now, compare those facts to the 115 deaths that occurred over 4 and 1/2 years from vitamin and supplement use. Does that really warrant a cover story?
I did read the article and here are my biggest gripes with their article.
Fact #2 they say some supplements are really prescription drugs. Well duh! Most prescription drugs are derived from natural elements as I explained in the video above. What they don't tell you is that what pharmaceutical companies do is make synthetic forms of naturally healing and health maintaining substances and make something they can patent and make money from.
They target botanicas which are little markets in, usually, latin neighborhoods that sale plants or herbs. This is attacking mom and pop shops. Again it comes back to money being steered from the little guy to the big pharmaceutical companies. Like really, we should not trust are local market that has natural remedies and keep our dollars local? But we should trust big pharma that kills over 100,000 people a year and already makes more than $250 Billion a year! I don't think so.
Another point they make is that the word Natural is not regulated by a formal group or organization. And to that I say so what. There are many drugs and medical procedures that are approved by the FDA, the Federal Death Administration, I mean the Food and Drug Administration that kill hundreds of thousands of people every year. No thanks, I'll take my chances with things the way God made them.
If you are still reading this, you must be interested lol but I just have 2 more points.
They talk about how many supplements are basically snake oil, like Omega 3 pills, but I just wonder why they just couldn't Google "clinical results on Omega 3 pills" and get the evidence that supports the benefits of taking them. I know from personal experience this works, I take it myself.
My final point and the most laughable of their story is that vitamin and supplements are a danger to you and your family because you can choke on the pills. I guess you can't choke on prescription pills?
Thanks for reading my blog.

1 Reason I'm Fat
There are many reasons we gain weight. Some people believe it is hereditary and there's nothing you can do about it. And I really hate those commercials that tell us it's not our fault that we're fat. Most of the reasons, this is just what I believe, that we as people are overweight is we are hiding some type of pain, and trying to drown out that hurt with food. We're unhappy about something and eating feels good, so we do it. Over and over again. For others it's just a wrong ratio of eating to exercise. For me, it's a little of both. I am coming off a very traumatic last 2 years of my life, in which I over ate and did not exercise. But I recognize this and that is why I'm making the steps to lose this 100 pounds. So enjoy this video.

Organic Coconut Oil Aids in Weight Loss
It is generally known that having high levels of cholesterol can cause negative effects to the body. The necessity of eating healthy and living healthy is incorporated with low cholesterol in the body. Having high cholesterol presents a much larger risk of heart disease, or even a fatal heart attack. There are different methods to lower cholesterol in the body. One method is certain drug treatment while the other is consuming food supplements or nutrients, such as Organic Coconut Oil that can help you lower your cholesterol level naturally. You decide which method to use but a more natural choice usually better. You can make a diet plan to check your cholesterol intake and it can help you maintain a lower cholesterol level that can reduce the risk of negative effects on the body.
In order to be healthy with lower cholesterol, you need to be informed about the proper foods and weight loss program needed to achieve this goal. You must always remember that a diet basically needs your respect, dedication and determination. You will need your full discipline to conquer your bad habits and change into more healthy ways. Below are some tips that are advisable to follow in order to get lower cholesterol levels.
Eliminate fat or minimize the amount of fat that you eat. Go for the healthier choices like skimmed milk, light cheese, and Organic Coconut Oil. These foods may seem less tasty than the typical foods that you usually eat, but the rewards are far more beneficial for your body in the long run.
Another tip is to lessen the red meat intake. You can replace it using white meat and fish. These foods have low fat and cholesterol levels.
Always remember that a healthy lifestyle showcases low cholesterol levels. If you choose to stay healthy, then you should always eat the healthy foods. Considering the cholesterol levels is a very critical factor for a healthy life. Including Organic Coconut in your nutrition plan will help.
Organice Coconut oil also makes a great skin moisturizer and can be used as a light balm on your hair to correct split ends and those "fly away" hairs we all love!
Bless and be blessed.
