My Apple Carrot Juice

Apple carrot juice is delicious when it is made to your liking. I prefer green apples because the red ones are sweeter and added to the sweetness of the carrots, it's just too sweet for me. So watch this video to see how I make mine and try it for yourself.

10 Easy Ways to Lose Weight Without Starving

1. Always Eat a Man's Breakfast
No more Lucky Charms—you want some protein and fat. Scrambled eggs and a few sausage links will keep you fuller longer than an airy doughnut will.

2. Eat More!
We're talking three good snacks and three healthful meals. But what do you serve during the bowl game if you can't have chips and dip? Mixed nuts—especially almonds—will satisfy your craving for something crunchy while helping to build muscle.

3. Just Say No to Starches
Foods like pasta, white bread, and potatoes make you fat. If you must have pasta, make yours whole-wheat. Same goes for bread, and swap white potatoes for sweet potatoes. Just don't eat too much!

4. Lift Weights
Yes, you have to hit the gym, and no, lifting beer cans during happy hour doesn't count. The muscles you build will not only improve your performance, they'll stoke your metabolism so you burn calories long after your workout is over.

5. Think Before You Eat
Don't just stuff your face with the stale cookies left over from the holidays, eat what tastes good and what's good for you. Take your time eating; you'll stay fuller longer.

Stifle those cravings for too long, and you'll be miserable and might fall off your new plan forever. Just splurge reasonably—two slices of pizza, not the whole thing.

8. Run Intervals
It's easier to alternate between hard and easy running instead of going for a long run—especially if you don't like running. Plus, you'll be done faster and burn more fat.

But go ahead, have a glass of wine now and then. Low-carb beer is fine, too, in moderation.

10. Don't Fear Fat
It makes you feel full, helps control your appetite, and your body needs it.

5 Minute Meals that Melt Off Pounds

Try some of the protein-rich meals below, which are part of the 2009 SELF Challenge, our free online slim-down plan. To lose 1 pound a week, eat 1,800 calories; mix and match these meals to find your perfect eating plan.

BODY-SLIMMING BREAKFASTS
RICOTTA WRAP (350 calories): 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp nonfat ricotta, 2 tbsp slivered almonds, 1/2 cup berries and 2 tsp honey in 1 whole-grain wrap such as Flatout multigrain flatbread

YOGURT CRUNCH (350 calories): 5 oz plain yogurt, 4 walnut halves, 3 tbsp All-Bran, 1/4 cup granola and 3/4 cup cubed melon

BACON, EGG AND CHEESE MUFFIN (500 calories): Scramble 1 large egg in 1 tsp margarine and place on a toasted whole-grain English muffin spread with 1 tsp margarine. Top with 1 slice cooked turkey bacon and 2 tbsp shredded reduced-fat cheddar. Serve with 3/4 cup berries, 1/4 cup lowfat vanilla yogurt and 12 oz skim latte. Try this blogger's tips to cut the cooking time.

LEAN AND LUSCIOUS LUNCHES
SHRIMP SALAD (400 calories): 10 cooked shrimp, 1/3 avocado, sliced, 1 tbsp slivered almonds, 2 tbsp each diced red onion and carrot, 1 tbsp prepared sesame dressing, tossed with 2 cups greens; 3 whole-grain crispbreads

TANGY TURKEY PITA (550 calories): 3 oz turkey breast, 5 olives, 3 tbsp feta, 2 tbsp each diced cucumber and tomato, 6 spinach leaves, 1 tbsp olive oil and 2 tsp balsamic vinegar in 1 whole-wheat pita; 1 large orange

PEAR ‘WICH (650 calories): 3 tbsp almond butter, 1/2 large pear, sliced, 1/8 tsp cinnamon on 2 slices whole-wheat bread. Serve with the other half of the pear.


DELICIOUS, TRIM-DOWN DINNERS
FISH AND FRIES (400 calories): 4 oz cod rubbed with 1 tsp olive oil, seared (2 to
3 minutes per side); 12 Alexia Sweet Potato Fries, baked as directed on package; 1 1/2 cups sliced cabbage tossed with 2 tbsp reduced-fat dressing

CHICKPEA PASTA (550 calories): 1/3 cup chopped onion, 2 cups chopped zucchini, 1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped, and 1/2 cup chickpeas sautéed in 1 tbsp olive oil. Mix with 1 cup cooked ziti, 2 tbsp Parmesan.

CHICKEN PILAF (600 calories): 3/4 cup cubed, cooked, skinless chicken mixed with 1 1/2 cups cooked Near East Whole Grain Wheat Pilaf drizzled with 1 tbsp olive oil; 1 cup steamed cauliflower with 1 tbsp lemon juice and 2 tbsp fresh parsley

SATISFYING SNACKS
Turkey and cheese roll-up (100 calories): 1 oz sliced turkey breast, 1 oz sliced reduced-fat cheddar rolled up

Chocolate milk with nuts (150 calories): 1 cup light chocolate soymilk, 13 pistachios

Orange spritzer and almonds (150 calories): 8 oz orange juice mixed with 4 oz sparkling water; 7 almonds

Down 2.6 pounds more Yes! Under 240 now 10 Minute Trainer

I lost 1.5 pounds so I am now back to where I was. Thank you for the encouragement during my break down when I ate 2 candy bars. I'm back on track for now.

Weekly Weigh in 12 Pounds Down



I lost 3.1 pounds this week that puts me down 12 pounds so far this year. I'm so excited. Next week I should be in the 230's and I am happy about that.

Wii Fit vs Wii Fitness Coach Core Rhythms



Wii Fit vs. Wii Fitness Coach. I really like both of these games, watch the video as I compare the 2. THey both have great features and different features. Wii Fit costs a little more but the whole family can use it. Also, I saw an infomercial for Core Rhythms and that looks like fun too. I might get it in May.


Weigh in Part 3 I gained . .





My third weigh in and I gained 1.5 lbs. I wasn't surprised it was my son's birthday this weekend and I over did it. Add to that, my knees and ankles were hurting so badly it was hard to exercise. Even the dog was hurt, and we could only walk not run. Oh well, on to next week and picking up the slack.

Weigh in Part 2 I lost a Pound This Week



I lost 1 pound but really I think more than that because it is that fabulous female time and I usually gain a few pounds of water, you know what I mean? But anyway, I will take a 11b weight loss. So I think a weekly weigh in is a good thing.

I really wanted a Bacon Cheeseburger Today




I want to see some ads for real sized people on exercise machines. Don't you? I really wanted a bacon cheeseburger today and was looking through my "motivational" magazines. I settled for 2 hard boiled eggs instead. Just ranting.

Are You Taking 10,000 Steps Per Day



I read an article that said we should be walking at least 10,000 steps per day. I just happen to have one and put it to the test. Also check out www.thebellyfatcure.com and Jorge Cruise, (married) but certainly a dish.

What Did You Have For Lunch on Super Friday/Tuna Salad?






Today for lunch I had a salad. Spring mix salad, with tuna sprinkled with lemon juice and sliced red beets. I know I will be eating badly on Super bowl Sunday so I wanted to eat good today. Share a lunch recipe with me.

2 handfuls of mixed spring salad I buy it a Costco.
It's tripled washed but I still rinse it off

Chicken of the Sea Chunk Light tuna in Water drained
I sprinkle lemon juice over the tuna I use a little less than 1/2 of the can per salad.

Slice some canned beets, drain the juice and use that to make apple beet juice. ( I will do a future video on using my Jack Lalanne Power Juicer that I love)

Wishbone salad dressing in Red Wine Viniagrette

I don't count calories so I have no idea how many calories but it's gotta be less than a cheeseburger and fries right?

And of course water with honey to wash it down.
